Donated Cars for Single Mothers That Need a Vehicle

Having reliable transportation is one of the biggest challenges of being a single mother. So much relies on having a means of transportation such as getting to work, school, and shopping for groceries. Unfortunately, transportation can be an expensive problem.

With the high costs of buying a car, maintaining it, and repairing one, many single mothers find it nearly impossible to have their own transportation, which leads them to borrowing someone else’s, relying on someone else giving them a ride, or using public transportation.

The good news is that there may be a solution to this problem. Many organizations offer free cars for single mothers. These donated cars are refurbished, so they can be used for many years to come.

Finding Donated Cars for Single Mothers

Finding donated cars can be difficult. Fortunately, the Internet has provided a valuable resource to finding them. Searching for organizations that support single mothers with a low income can be a good way to find good quality donated cars.

To get started on your search for a donated car, here are some of the organizations that often award vehicles to single mothers.

Newgate Education Center

Newgate Education Center is a free tuition vocational school for auto body and auto mechanic training. The donated cars they receive from generous people are used to teach and then given to single mothers.

The Newgate Education Center gives away 4 or 5 refurbished vehicles to single moms every year. These women are often referred from women’s shelters and women’s service agencies.

Springs Rescue Mission

This organization provides single mothers and other individuals in desperate need of a vehicle a donated car. This organization also relies on the generosity of donators, so the amount of cars available to give depends on the number of people who donate. Visit Springs Rescue Mission website.

Wheels for Wishes

The Make a Wish foundation also has donation cars available. While it may be more difficult to get one since their charity helps thousands of people all over the nation, it’s worth a try because you never know if you’ll be the lucky chosen one.

Salvation Army and Goodwill

Salvation Army and Goodwill are two organizations that regularly accept vehicle donations. While most of the time they sell those vehicles, they do sometimes provide individuals in need one free. Contact your local Salvation Army or Goodwill for more information.

Continue the Search for Reliable Transportation

As you can imagine, having reliable transportation to get your child to childcare and yourself to work can make your life much easier. While these organizations are great places to start on your quest for a vehicle, don’t stop there. Continue searching for one until you succeed.

Have hope in getting yourself the transportation you need, and soon, you’ll have it with pride because you’ve persevered and achieved what you need.

Hi, I’m a single parent to 2 of my grandchildren who are 3 and a 18 months. I’ve had both since birth. Both have special needs and require many appointments. I too am disabled and am always needed to go to appointments. My husband before he passed had left me with a vehicle but was wrecked into, as luck would have it the replacement vehicle caught fire and was destroyed. I have been without a vehicle for nearly a year and have not been able to make appointments and am at the mercy of others when I do make them. I pray that God bless me and my babies with a vehicle… And God bless you ten fold if I am blessed with a car. I’m not able to afford to buy one on my disability income. Thank u for your time.

I am a 30 yr old single mom of 2 bright angels. My eldest is 11(boy) and youngest is (4).I had to leave home at a tender age of 18 due to my step father’s abuse, and landed straight in the hands of a man that kept my step father’s legacy alive. I decided to leave him when I was pregnant with my little girl, a period during which I was heavily indebted. I am working full time, and I am grateful to God for the wonderful blessing. But due to my bad debt I cannot afford to buy a car on credit or cash and I desperately need to be mobile in order to earn an extra income and make ends meet. I am willing to enter into an agreement with anyone willing to donate, to either work for them in return for the car or volunteer at any charity they choose. I am already involved in various community development programmes in my province.

Looking forward to your positive response. Thanking you in advance!

Hello single Mommy’s and Daddy’s…. I found this website in search of getting help with getting a car.. I sat here and read a lot of the posts and have cried my eyes out. For years I have volunteered my time and put my life on the line for others. I’m a fire fighter/EMT and volunteer with an ambulance service and Fire Dept. I sit back and look at my life now and how it’s turned out. I’ve been a decent person all my life, no drugs, no alcohol, never even had a speeding ticket! I’m no saint by any means.. but it’s a shame that it seems no matter how hard you try sometimes life will let you down. It’s not how many times you have fallen but how many times you get up, dust your self off and keep on keeping on!! I HOPE EACH AND EVERY ONE OF YOU GET A NEW CAR!!! I wish I could win the lottery, I would go through every single comment and contact you personally and buy you a car. GOD BLESS YOU AND YOUR CHILDREN!!! I hope all of you have a very Merry Christmas and your children are happy and safe with you! Good luck to you all, I also hope and pray you get the help you need! My blessing to you all!!!
